The information below is important to determine where our group meets prior to each hike. Please read this section before skipping to the actual hike descriptions.
The December schedule includes
hikes in the Red Rock Canyon (including Cottonwood Valley) and Lake
Mead areas with a few hikes scattered in other areas around Las Vegas.
Below is information regarding our meeting locations for the main
areas. There are different assembly points for Lake Mead hikes
depending on whether those hikes are on the north or south sides of the
lake. Hikes in other locations will have directions included in the
descriptions for those hikes.
Red Rock Canyon Area. Our
assembly point for hikes in Red Rock Canyon and the immediate vicinity
is at the Red Rock Casino on Charleston Boulevard just east of 215. To
access the meeting location turn into the casino property at the
signalized intersection directly across from Canyon Pointe, turn right
directly in front of the casino, and immediately turn right into the
outdoor lot. If traveling east on Charleston from 215 you can turn
right at the first entrance and then make an immediate left into the
lot. The group will be parking at the north end of the lot along near
Charleston Boulevard. For hikes located in Cottonwood Valley
and west there will be a secondary meeting location available for
individuals coming from the south side of Las Vegas. That will be at
the gas station located at the intersection of Highways 159 and 160
(Blue Diamond Road). This will be a quick stop that will occur about
twenty or twenty-five minutes after the regular departure from Red Rock
Casino.
Lake Mead South. For
all hikes on the south side of the lake the general meeting spot will
be near the large outdoor sign in front of the Henderson Fiesta Casino.
Henderson Fiesta is located on Lake Mead Parkway just east of the junction of I-215 and I-515. Lake
Mead Parkway is the eastbound extension of I-215. There will also be
an earlier assembly point for these hikes at the Red Rock Casino, with
directions above, and there could be local stopping points after the
group leaves Henderson Fiesta. These stopping points will be listed in
the appropriate hike descriptions.
Lake Mead North. For
hikes on the north side of the lake the early west side collection
point will be on the top level of the parking garage at Rampart Casino
rather than at Red Rock Casino. Rampart
Casino at the Resort at Summerlin (a J. W. Marriot property) is located
on Rampart Boulevard just south of Summerlin Parkway. The garage is
located on the northeast side of the casino and is four stories in
height. The best route from Rampart to the general meeting
location is Summerlin Parkway to Highway 95 to I-15 north to eastbound
Lake Mead Boulevard. The
general assembly point will be in the parking lot behind the CVS
Pharmacy located on the southeast corner of the intersection of Lake
Mead Boulevard and Hollywood. There will also be a secondary
pickup point at the pullout area close to Mile Marker 4 of Northshore
Road inside Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
IMPORTANT NOTE #1 - Hike
coordinators may not always be at either the early or primary assembly
points. Participants will need to monitor the time and set up
carpooling to the next meeting location or pickup point when that
occurs. Although most of these situations are noted in the hike
descriptions, others may occur that are not so noted.
IMPORTANT POINT #2 - When
reading the descriptions you will see references to both Lake
Mead Boulevard and Lake Mead Parkway. These are different streets.
Lake Mead Boulevard is an east-west street on the north side of Las
Vegas that runs completely across the city. Lake Mead Parkway is on the
south side of the city and is an east-west street that starts at the
junction of I-515 and I-215 and extends over to the lake. Please do not
mix these up.
Times indicated for each hike are departure times and are strictly observed. Usually the group will begin arriving as much as one-half hour prior to the scheduled departure times.
Please
pay attention to the difficulty ratings for each hike offered and do
not attempt hikes that are beyond your abilities. New hikers without
recent hiking experience MUST begin with the 8:30 AM Saturday hikes as
these are the only hikes that guarantee a fairly leisurely pace.
Strenuous Tuesday hikes are only open to existing members who are
properly experienced. Be sure to wear appropriate clothing, footwear,
and hats and bring sunscreen, water, electrolyte replacement fluids as needed, and food or snacks as desired for each outing.

Monday, December 1 - Blue Diamond Ridge Trails. Located
behind the community of Blue Diamond, these trails were largely
established by mountain bikers. The set we will be using for our
moderate loop hike will be 5 miles in length and have about 600 feet of
elevation gain. Primary meeting location will be at Red Rock Casino for
a 7:45 AM departure. South side participants can
drive directly to Blue Diamond and should be at the gravel parking area
on the right side on the entrance road to the community no later than 8:00 AM. The hike will start from the bike shop in town. Coordinator - Chris Dempsey.
Tuesday, December 2 - Potosi Northern Loop. This
strenuous outing will follow a lengthy loop route of about 8 miles with
3,000 feet of elevation gain and will lead to Inspiration Point and
Buddha's Retreat on the mountain. There is some exposure on a
connecting ridge leading to the top and some scrambling will be
involved. High clearance vehicles are recommended to negotiate about
one and a half miles of rough gravel road leading to the start of the
hike. Departure from Red Rock Casino will be at 8:00 AM with a secondary pickup at the Highway 160 gas station by 8:25 AM. Coordinator - Laszlo Heredy.
Wednesday, December 3 - Lovell Canyon Trails. There
are two options for this hike that will be conducted jointly with Lone
Mountain Hiking Club. The shorter version primarily consists of a
moderate 6-mile loop on the Lovell Canyon Trail. The longer version is
between 8 and 9 miles with more elevation gain and is rated moderately
strenuous. Lone Mountain hikers will depart from Desert Vista Community
Center in Sun City Summerlin at 7:45 AM. The main assembly point for Around the Bend Friends will be Red Rock Casino with an 8:00 AM departure.
Both groups will meet at the gas station at the intersection of
Highways 159 and 160 where any south side participants can go directly. Combined group departure will be at 8:25 AM. Those wishing to drive directly to the Lovell Canyon trailhead parking lot should be there for a 9:00 AM start for the hike. Coordinator - Ann Hoskin.
Thursday, December 4 - Pinnacle Valley. There may
be some exploration involved in hiking to this destination that we
first attempted last March. On that occasion the group covered 8 miles,
which is probably close to the distance for this effort. There is a
variety of surface conditions including recreational gravel roads and
off-trail bushwhacking, and the rating should probably be considered
moderately strenuous. Early west side group should be at Red Rock
Casino for a &;20 AM departure for the primary meeting location at Henderson Fiesta. The full group will leave there at 8:00 AM. Coordinator - Chris Dempsey.
Friday, December 5 - Blue Diamond Canyon #1. This
moderately strenuous 5-mile hike with 1,000 feet of elevation gain will
climb through the southernmost canyon on Blue Diamond Hill and involve a
considerable amount of scrambling. After exiting the canyon the group
will follow a couple of ridges toward and past the gypsum mine, then
follow a slope with some scrambling back to the starting point. Group
departure from Red Rock Casino will be at 8:10 AM and
they should proceed to the gravel parking lot along the entrance road to
the community of Blue Diamond where they will meet the coordinator at 8:30 AM. Coordinator - David Hardy.
Friday, December 5 - Tanks Discovery Scramble. The
Sun City Anthem Hiking Club will be joining us for this scrambling
adventure out of Sandstone Quarry. With three climbs averaging 500 feet
each, the route passes several tinajas in the northern part of the
Calico Hills. The route will also pass the Sandstone Quarry Arch and a
small petroglyph site. There is a bit of exposure which can be bypassed
and the total distance should be around 5 miles and be rated moderately
strenuous. The ABF group will leave Red Rock Casino at 8:30 AM and will be joined by the Sun City Anthem group at Sandstone Quarry around 8:45 AM. Coordinator - Kay Blackwell.
Saturday, November 6 - Railroad Tunnels, Bridge & Dam. The
long version of the hike from the lower Alan Bible parking lot will
cover a total distance of close to 8 miles and visit both the walkway on
the new bridge and the top of Hoover Dam before returning to the
starting point. The elevation gain of 400 feet mainly occurs on the
initial return leg and the overall rating would be moderate. Early west
side group should meet the coordinator at Red Rock Casino for a 7:20 AM departure. The full group will assemble at Henderson Fiesta for an 8:00 AM departure. Boulder City residents can drive to the Alan Bible parking lot where the hike will start about 8:30 AM. Coordinator - Chris Dempsey.
Saturday, December 6 - Historic Railroad Tunnels. The
leisurely group this Saturday will be following in the footsteps of the
early group but will only go as far as the picnic tables located just
beyond the fifth tunnel along the route. This out-and-back option
covers a distance of 4 miles with minimal elevation gain and is rated
easy to moderate with emphasis on the easy. The early west side
departure from Red Rock Casino will occur at 7:50 AM. The coordinator will meet the full group at Henderson Fiesta for an 8:30 AM departure. Boulder City residents should be at the starting parking lot no later than 9:00 AM. Coordinator - Ron Hindmarch.
Sunday, December 7 - Back Hills Long Route. This
hike begins from the gravel parking lot on the right side of the
entrance road to the community of Blue Diamond where the group will meet
the coordinator for an 8:00 AM start. The route
follows a network of trails with little elevation change in the first
few miles before reaching a trail into the hills between Tertiary Ridge
and Highway 160. The route continues along the Landmine Trail , then
turns right and follows a faint trail over the top of Tertiary Ridge and
back down into Blue Diamond. Overall distance is about 8 miles with
1,200 feet of elevation gain and a moderate rating. The early group
carpooling from Red Rock Casino should leave there by 7:40 AM. Coordinator - David Hardy.
Monday, December 8 - Redstone Discovery. Approximately
5 miles in length, this hike starts at Mile Marker 25.2 along
Northshore Road. The hike is generally considered moderate but it
includes some scrambling and exploring on the Aztec Formation red
sandstone. Participants from the west side should carpool from Rampart
Casino by 7:20 AM and join the main group at the CVS parking lot on Lake Mead Boulevard, from which the combined group will leave at 8:00 AM.
The coordinators, long with any other south side participants, will
meet that group at the Mile Marker 4 pullout on Northshore Road about 8:15 AM before heading to the starting point for the hike. Coordinators - Joan & Chuck Hawkins.
Tuesday, December 9 - Bridge Mountain. One of the
most difficult Red Rock hikes ever to grace our schedule is this
12-mile out-and-back hike to the top of a signature peak on the
escarpment that will start from the Pink Jeep turnout along Rocky Gap
Road. With about 3,000 feet of elevation gain and significant exposure,
this very strenuous hike should only be attempted by the most
experienced club members. High clearance vehicles are recommended to
negotiate the mile or so of rough gravel road beyond Willow Springs.
Meet the group at Red Rock Casino for an 8:00 AM departure and plan on this hike using most of the daylight. Coordinator - Michael O'Connor.
Wednesday, December 10 - Conglomerate Trail. We
will again be joined by Lone Mountain Hiking Club for a joint hike rated
moderate that will cover a distance of 5 miles. The group will start
on the trail leading from the horse stables parking lot off Highway 159
and proceed in a counter clockwise direction. About a quarter mile
before the main accumulation of conglomerate boulders the route cuts
left and intersects the Bunny Trail for a return to the starting point.
Lone Mountain members will leave from Desert Vista at 8:00 AM along with the hike coordinator. The Around the Bend Friends contingent should leave Red Rock Casino at 8:10 AM and meet the first group at the horse stables parking lot, where the hike will start by 8:30 AM. Coordinator - John Stewart.
Thursday, December 11 - Yucca Peak. This first
time hike for the club is located in the Desert National Wildlife
Range. The trailhead is at the parking lot on Mormon Well Road. The
group will hike up Yucca Ridge to the peak and descend through a
drainage back to the starting point. The descent is very scenic and has
three dry waterfalls to negotiate. The entire route is off-trail and
requires bushwhacking and scrambling. Stats are 4 miles round trip with
an elevation gain of 1,300 feet starting from an elevation of 7,000
feet, so expect cooler conditions. High clearance vehicles are strongly
recommended. Participants should meet on the third level of the
southeast garage at Santa Fe Station for a 7:30 AM departure. Coordinator - Jerry Thomas.
Friday, December 12 - White Rock Hills Loop. Journey
around the two cream colored peaks at the north end of Red Rock Canyon
on this moderate loop hike starting from Willow Springs Picnic Area.
The basic hike has a total distance of 6.4 miles but there will be an
optional out-and-back adjunct taking
the group over to La Madre Springs, which would bring the total up to
about 8 miles. This short side trip passes a couple of old foundations
before reaching the dam backing up the pool at the springs. Departure
from Red Rock Casino will occur at 8:00 AM. Coordinator - Sylvie Courtemarsh.
Saturday, December 13 - North Bowl of Fire. This
strenuous 7 to 8-mile loop hike will start near Mile Marker 20 along
Northshore Road and head across the desert toward the colorful sandstone
formations at the base of the Muddy Mountains. There will be some
serious route scrambling that includes upward passage through a rabbit
hole on the way to a stunning lookout called Raven's Balcony. West side
participants should carpool from Rampart Casino at 7:20 AM and join the main contingent at the CVS Pharmacy lot on Lake Mead Boulevard. That combined group should leave at 8:00 AM to meet the coordinators and other south side participants at the Mile Marker 4 pullout along Northshore Road about 8:15 AM before heading to the starting point of the hike. Saturday, December 13 - Bootleg Canyon Trails. The
leisurely hike this Saturday will start from the base of the Boulder
City zip line and follow some of the trails parallel to the gravel road
going around the back side of Red Mountain. The intended route is a
partial loop that should cover a distance up to 4 miles with a rating of
easy to moderate. The early west side group will meet at Red Rock
Casino for a departure at 7:50 AM for the primary meeting location at Henderson Fiesta. The full group will leave there at 8:30 AM. Boulder City residents driving directly to the starting point should be there by 8:45 AM. Coordinator - Nancy Moore.
Monday, December 15 - South Bowl of Fire. Located
in the general vicinity of the Saturday hike, this moderately strenuous
outing is 5 or 6 miles and includes some steep areas. The hike will
start from Mile Marker 18 on Northshore Road and head toward a different
aggregation of colorful sandstone formations. Like Saturday, departure
times are 7:20 AM from Rampart Casino and 8:00 AM from CVS Pharmacy on Lake Mead Boulevard with a final assembly point at Mile Marker 4 on Northshore Road about 8:15 AM before driving together to the starting point of the hike farther east. Coordinators - Joan & Chuck Hawkins.
Tuesday, December 16 - Calico Triple Peak. Only
serious and experienced hikers should sow up for this very strenuous
outing in the Calico Hills that will cover a distance of about 4 or 5
miles. That's because there is considerable scrambling and significant
exposure along the route that will visit Red Cap, Calico Peak, and
Calico II Overlook Peak before making an arduous descent through a
canyon back to the Red Rock side of the sandstone hills. The group will
assemble at Red Rock Casino for an 8:00 AM departure. Coordinator - Michael O'Connor.
Wednesday, December 17 - The Muffins & Skull Canyon. Starting
from the Cowboy Stables parking lot along Highway 159 the group will
follow the trail up to the distinctive conglomerate boulders on the
north end of Blue Diamond Hill and then head along a ridge to the area
of the old Las Vegas Overlook. The descent on this moderate 5 to 6-mile
hike will be through Skull Canyon back to the starting point. The
group will assemble and depart from Red Rock Casino at 8:00 AM. Coordinator - Roger Hembree.
Thursday, December 18 - Brownstone Canyon. Participants
will be treated to probably the finest example of primitive rock art
near Red Rock Canyon on this strenuous 8-mile loop hike starting from
Sandstone Quarry. The route heads around the north end of Red Cap and
descends into Gateway Canyon, where the scrambling begins involving a
number of dry waterfalls in the predominant limestone. This is followed
by some serious scrambling on sandstone down into Brownstone Canyon
past the pictographs before turning up that canyon and transitioning
back to the Red Rock side of Turtlehead on the return. Group departure
from Red Rock Casino will be at 8:00 AM. Coordinator - Kay Blackwell.
Friday, December 19 - Krafft Mountain Loop. One
of the most stunning hikes in the Red Rock area is this moderately
strenuous 5 to 6-mile loop through Gateway Canyon on the back side of
Krafft Mountain. The route climbs the trail up Five Stop Hill before
dropping into the canyon for something over a mile of scrambling
excitement. Exiting the canyon the group will pass a renowned boulder
field on the south edge of the mountain before returning to the start
along Ash Creek. Participants should meet at Red Rock Casino for an 8:00 AM departure. Coordinator - Roger Hembree.
Saturday, December 20 - Fracture Ridge Peak. Located
just south of Black Mountain in Henderson, Fracture Ridge Peak offers
some unusual terrain as it transitions through a field of lava boulders
on the way to the top. The moderately strenuous hike can be done as a
straight out-and-back of about 6 miles involving 1,700 feet of elevation
gain or there are a few side trails on the return that could increase
this distance by about a mile. Participants gathering at Red Rock
Casino should leave there at 7:15 AM for the main assembly point at the Walgreen's Drug located at the intersection of Anthem Parkway and Hampton Road and an 8:00 AM departure for the trailhead parking. Anthem Parkway is off Eastern Avenue south of I-215. Coordinator - Lettie Gutierrez.
Saturday, December 20 - Clark County Wetlands & Duck Creek. This
leisurely easy 4-mile hike is a great way to explore a unique
environment in the Las Vegas valley. The first part of the outing will
involve a series of meandering paved and dirt trails past a number of
ponds, a rushing section of the Las Vegas wash complete with a
pedestrian bridge, and a boardwalk. The second part will head toward
Duck Creek and look at some larger ponds often inhabited by migratory
waterfall. Terrain is almost completely level. The early west side
group will leave Red Rock Casino at 7:50 AM for the main assembly point at Henderson Fiesta. The Combined group will depart from there at 8:30 AM and arrive at the wetlands about twenty minutes later. Coordinator - Chris Dempsey.
Sunday, December 21 - Late Night Trailhead to Blue Diamond. A
car shuttle will be required for this fairly lengthy moderately
strenuous hike using the Late Night Trail from the large paved parking
area along Highway 160 that will eventually wind up back at the
community of Blue Diamond. A faint trail up the base of the canyons at
Red Rock Bluffs will pass petroglyphs, two springs, and the mouth of
Black Velvet Canyon, then head to the top of Tertiary Ridge before
returning to Blue Diamond. Total distance is 8 or 9 miles with 1,200
feet of elevation gain. Early risers will meet at Red Rock Casino,
leaving there at 6:55 AM to the join the coordinator
and other south side participants at the gravel parking lot along the
entrance road to Blue Diamond, from which the group will depart at 7:15 AM for the trailhead parking lot. Coordinator - David Hardy.
Monday, December 22 - Ash Canyon Overlook. There
is some scrambling involved on this moderate 3-mile hike from Sandstone
Quarry to a sandstone outcropping high above Ash Canyon overlooking the
community of Calico Basin. However, it isn't so significant that it
should cause the average hiker any difficulty. Besides, the back
country views provided by this short hike are definitely worth the
effort. The group will assemble at Red Rock Casino for an 8:00 AM departure. Coordinator - Tony Fountain.
Tuesday, December 23 - Frenchman's Mountain. This
very strenuous out-and-back hike may be short at just 4 miles but it
climbs over 2,000 feet of elevation at an overall twenty per cent grade
over difficult terrain that includes areas of exposure. The route used
for this hike will be through the canyon with the anchored cable coming
toward the peak from the northwest. Near the top a steep side ridge
must be traversed to access the gravel service road for the antennas on
the peak. The early west side group should leave Rampart Casino by 7:20 AM to get to the main assembly point at the CVS Pharmacy on Lake Mead Boulevard with a full group departure at 8:00 AM. Coordinator - Michael O'Connor.
Tuesday, December 23 - Cave Canyon, Middle Rim Trail & The Muffins. Those
individuals looking for something a bit more sedate should consider
this moderately strenuous 8-mile hike that starts with some pretty good
scrambling in Cave Canyon a little past the main corral at the horse
stables. At the top of the canyon the group will hike over to the
Middle Rim Trail, climb up to the Las Vegas Overlook, then continue over
to the Muffins and make the descent to the base of Blue Diamond Hill
along that trail. Overall there is about 1,400 feet of elevation gain.
There will be an 8:00 AM departure for the hike from Red Rock Casino. Coordinator - Kay Blackwell.
Wednesday, December 24 - Echo Canyon & Fossil Ridge. This
moderate loop hike with 900 feet of elevation gain starts from the same
Cowboy Stables parking lot used on the previous day's hike but explores
a canyon and a ridge a bit to the west of the earlier hike. The route
up through Echo Canyon has a fair amount of trail but there will be some
scrambling involved, especially over a few minor dry waterfalls. The
return is on the ridge immediately above that canyon. Distance is
between 4 and 5 miles depending on which trail is used for the final
descent. The group will meet at Red Rock Casino and leave at 8:00 AM. Coordinator - Kay Blackwell.
Thursday, December 25 - Blue Diamond Hill. It
may be Christmas Day but it's still okay to get a bit of exercise.
Join the other hard core hikers for a trek on the north end of Blue
Diamond Hill. There is no preset route for this hike that should
cover between 5 and 7 miles but the plan is to have it finished by noon
at the latest to get home for an early dinner. Anyone wanting to
carpool from Red Rock Casino should leave there at 7:45 AM and meet the coordinator at the Cowboy Stables parking lot from which the hike will start at 8:00 AM. Coordinator - David Hardy.
Saturday, December 27 - Hamblin Mountain. Get
ready for a truly magnificent view of several sections of Lake Mead if
you go on this moderately strenuous out-and-back hike covering a
distance of 7 miles with 1,500 feet of elevation gain. There is a bit
of exposure at the very top but most people can negotiate the area by
exercising a bit more caution. The return section involves a short
detour through a very colorful canyon replete with cryptobiotic soil.
Early west side departure from Rampart Casino will be at 7:20 AM and the full group will depart from CVS Pharmacy on Lake Mead Boulevard at 8:00 AM. There will be an additional stop at the pullout at Mile Marker 4 along Northshore Road about 8:15 AM to pick up any south side participants. Coordinator - Michael O'Connor.
Saturday, December 27 - White Owl Canyon. A
variation of the standard hike into this well known canyon on the shore
of Lake Mead ill be this easy to moderate point-to-point hike that
should cover a distance of 4 miles. This leisurely outing will start
from the old boat ramp just after the fee station on Lakeshore Drive
and end at the Hole 33 parking lot. Much of the hike is along the edge
of the lake but will also include a short jaunt into White Owl Canyon.
The early west side group will depart from Red Rock Casino at 7:30 AM. The main collection point will be at Henderson Fiesta with the full group leaving at 8:30 AM. Coordinator - Ann Cronin.
Sunday, December 28 - Railroad Pass Mountain Loop. This
moderate 5-mile loop hike will follow a trail around the mountain
located directly northeast of the Railroad Pass Casino. Features of the
hike include great views of the Cascata Golf Course and waterfall, and
it's always possible to see bighorn sheep in the back country of the
River Mountains. The early west side group should carpool from Red Rock
Casino at 7:20 AM and head for the main assembly point at Henderson Fiesta. Departure of the full group from there is at 8:00 AM, with arrival at Railroad Pass Casino around 8:15 AM. Anyone driving directly to that location should use the upper parking area. Coordinator - Kay Blackwell.
Monday, December 29 - Lone Mountain. Join
the group for a fairly short 3-mile jaunt to the top of a 750-foot peak
on the north side of Las Vegas. Surprisingly, the views stretch
completely across the valley but the northwest corner of the city is
specifically highlighted. The trail is somewhat steep but the footing
is generally okay because of the exposed limestone. The starting point
for this moderate hike will be from the parking lot on the south side of
Lone Mountain Regional Park. That is located just off Jensen between
Alexander and Craig several miles west of Highway 95. Be there for an 8:30 AM start on the trail. Coordinator - Tony Fountain.
Tuesday, December 30 - Anniversary Narrows Peak. This
strenuous 8-mile loop hike involves a peak, some exposure, narrow
slots, and a lot of wash hiking. That said, the views of the North and
South Bowls of Fire are fantastic. The trek will be done in a counter
clockwise direction which should mean the return section includes the
famous Anniversary Narrows. Overall elevation gain is around 1,800
feet. Anyone carpooling from Rampart Casino should leave there at 7:20 AM to head for the main assembly point at the CVS Pharmacy on Lake Mead Boulevard. Departure from there will be at 8:00 AM and there will be a very short stop at the Mile Marker 4 pullout along Northshore Road about 8:15 AM to collect any south side participants. Wednesday, December 31 - Liberty Bell Arch. We
will be ending the year with another joint hike involving the Lone
Mountain Hiking Club. This moderate out-and-back trek is about 6 miles
long and passes the remains of an old manganese mine, the recognizable

feet above the Colorado River. The coordinator will be at Desert Vista
Community Center in Sun City Summerlin to start the Lone Mountain
contingent at 8:00 AM. West side ABF participants should carpool from Red Rock Casino at 8:10 AM.
Both groups should head to the Henderson Fiesta, which will be the
main gathering spot, from which the entire group will leave at 8:45 AM. Anyone going from Boulder City can drive directly to the trailhead parking lot in Arizona, where the hike will start about 9:15 AM. Coordinator - Chris Dempsey.

I would like to provide a general reminder about our last outing of the
year to Palm Springs, California. Roughly thirty-five members of the
club will be heading there from Thursday, December 11 through Sunday,
December 14 to experience that part of the country.
